Professional Edition - The White Swan, Pickering
Victor Buchanan owner of the White
Swan in Pickering, upgraded his former hotel software system, to the
Professional Edition of Resident Pro in 2002. A renowned 22 bedroom hotel,
the White Swan also installed Uniwell epos tills to manage their bar and
restaurant, to bill back sales to the guest bills on Resident Pro - and
automatic capture and costing of phone calls made from the bedrooms on their LG
telephone system. Using Resident Pro on a "front office / back
office" network, allowed the management team to access the software from
different areas within the hotel. The software enabled the staff to
balance their sales each day on Resident Pro, with their credit card machine,
and till z readings. Separate 'point of sale' cash and plastic sales on
the tills would be entered onto Resident Pro prior to each balance. Clever
archiving would allow management to look back at monthly takings, heads on beds
and occupancy figures, and to see which members of staff were making or changing
bookings, and bills. The software would also produce a banking report, to
confirm the amounts waiting to be banked. In short, a controlled and
accountable system of work, to manage the hotel, and balance the books.
Professional Edition - Platform 1, Hull

Professional Edition of Resident Pro in 2006, to manage their 40 bedrooms, and
to replace a more basic software system which was left lacking in many areas.
Resident Pro now organises all the hotel reservations at Platform 1, on
two computers side-by-side. Platform 1 also installed ICRTouch epos tills
to manage their bar and restaurant, and to bill back sales to the guest bills on
Resident Pro. With ICRTouch billbacks, each individual product can be shown on
the room bill. The software enabled the staff to
balance their sales each day with their credit card machine,
and till z readings. Separate 'point of sale' cash and plastic sales on
the tills would be entered onto Resident Pro prior to each balance. The
Resident Pro software now looks after the daily sales, deposits, letter writing,
etc. and has totally transformed Platform 1’s front of house manageability.
Small Guest House Edition
Suitable for small proprietor-run businesses who simply want to manage their
present and future bookings, and printout bills for their guests. The "Small
Guest House Edition" of Resident Pro delivers all the power and simplicity
of the Professional Reservations Chart, without any Book Keeping. Unlike the
"Professional Edition", there is no archiving of occupancy charts, revenue,
management statistics, or daily balances. Ideal for hands-on small
proprietor-run businesses.

Small Guest House Edition - The Horseshoe Inn,
Levisham
Charles Wood and his brother of the Fox
& Rabbit near Pickering, purchased the Horseshoe
Inn with 8 letting rooms. Like their other pub, the plan was to turn
the Horseshoe into a successful and busy eatery, but Charles also required a
simple and effective system to manage their 8 bedrooms. Rather than using
a manual diary, or a cheap piece of software that would be no better than a
manual diary, Charles and his manager Jon opted for the "Small Guest House
Edition" of Resident Pro. This edition would manage all the bedroom
letting, letter writing and emails, and produce bills for their guests, listing
the accommodation, deposit paid, and all the extra's during their stay. The
bookkeeping side that comes with the "Professional Edition" was not
required, because much of the sales at the Horseshoe would already be punched
into their existing bar till, so the Horseshoe would simply enter the
accommodation bills into the till, after checkout - so that the Z reading on the
till would produce the total sales figures each day. The Small Guest House
Edition would also allow the Horseshoe use of a built-in Function Dairy, to
create non-resident bookings for special functions or weddings. In short,
a simple, low-cost solution for the management and staff to take control of
their rooms, and produce professional looking bills, letters and emails for
their guests.
